The body is injection-molded from a high-quality, impact-resistant polymer for superb durability and weather resistance. Thanks to its robust design and IPX4 rating, the Fred is splash-proof.
Four LEDs form the base of the lamp - three white LEDs and one ultra-bright red LED.
Two output power settings are available for each LED color:
 Low power red beam of 1.5 lm with a range of 1 m and a battery life of 130 hours.
 High-power red beam of 12 lm with a range of 5 m and a battery life of 12 hours.
 Low power white beam of 30 lm with a range of 9 m and a battery life of 41 hours.
 High-power white beam of 200 lm with a range of 21 m and a battery life of 5.5 hours.
The headlamp is powered by three AAA alkaline batteries.
A single rubberized button, mounted on the top, operates and changes the modes of the headlamp. A tilting arm bracket allows for easy adjustment of the beam angle.
