Safeguard Medical introduces the latest addition to our hydrogel breast dressing range, the H-VENT Laminar Vented Chest Dressing. Like our first-class Bolin Chest Seal, the patented H-VENT design helps relieve pressure from an open chest wound caused by air in the rib cage (pneumothorax) or bodily fluid (hemothorax).
The main features of H-VENT Laminar Vented Chest Dressing include:
A unique, multidirectional ventilated dressing. This allows fluids to "flow against gravity." This is important because it allows the injured person to be transported lying on their side, etc.
The design helps prevent blockages. This provides a foolproof system, as there are 6 connections. Even if 5 are blocked, the ventilation remains fully functional.
The unique design of the dome membrane ensures a complete seal around the wound and reduces the risk of air or liquid finding another way in.
The large ventilation openings of the H-VENT Laminar Vented Chest Dressing allow for visual monitoring of the wound. The dome design quickly indicates whether air or liquid is escaping from the chest cavity (blowed upwards) or when a seal is present (drawn downwards).
Internal tests have proven that the seal is maintained during inhalation and that a sustained negative pressure (under ambient pressure) is maintained in the pleural space.
Lowest profile of all ventilated breast sealants and easy to fold.
The H-VENT ventilated laminar lug seal is available in single pack and double pack with two individually sealed breast seals, connected together for easy access and use.
Both versions have a shelf life of 5 years.
