STORM Plate Carrier - SIOEN
The STORM Plate Carrier was designed for operators. This vest, uniquely mounted on a harness, will greatly increase the comfort of operators who need to carry heavy loads (Nij IV plates, large ammunition loads, backpacks, etc.) for the duration of their mission.
The Harness:
The harness of this vest, designed by operators, will solve the asymmetry problems of other harnesses currently on the market.
It consists of three parts: one at the top that extends to the shoulders, and two at the bottom, each extending to its respective side. They are fitted with elastic cord to allow for stretching as needed during your movements. The harness ends that pass under the cummerbunds attach with Velcro under the front panel, or tuck into a loop under your front plate to secure it.
The front plate:
The front plate features a Velcro surface for attaching your chosen front panel. It is compatible with all types of front panel mounting systems (ITW clips, G-hooks).
On the upper part of the plate, you'll find a Velcro surface for attaching a PTT or patches. This surface also features MOLLE webbing for attaching a phone case (Kägwerks or others). Additional MOLLE webbing on the sides of the plate will help you secure your PTT and also manage your radio's cables.
Finally, at the top you will find an administrative pocket which will allow you to store a notebook, etc...
The presence of ROC attachments on the shoulders will make it easier to put on this plate carrier, but will also be a big advantage if you require medical assistance and a third party has to remove your equipment.
The rear plate:
The back panel is fully covered with MOLLE webbing, allowing you to attach pouches of your choice. These loops also allow for the attachment of accessories such as a radio antenna to your back.
The sides of the back plate have zips so that a back panel or the SIOEN BackPack can be attached, which is part of the ecosystem of this plate carrier designed to be mounted on this vest using the zips so as not to hinder the operator with the straps of a backpack.
The cummerbunds:
Cummerbunds are the straps that go around your ribs to connect the front and back plates of your life jacket. On the STORM, they go over the harness, which is designed to distribute the load. The side pockets can be attached directly to the harness's MOLLE webbing, and the cummerbund will go over them.
Cummerbunds are attached by ROC fasteners which allow for quick unclipping if you require medical attention.
The front panel:
To accommodate everyone, the original front panel is covered with MOLLE loops onto which you can attach the MOLLE pouches of your choice.
However, we recommend that users with 5.56 chargers switch to a front panel from the SIOEN ecosystem or the SLEDS which we also use.
The shoulder pads:
Two types of shoulder pads will be included with the STORM. One pair is made entirely of spandex (elastic fabric) and covers the Velcro sections of the harness to create a smooth surface and prevent snagging. The other pair is padded to increase comfort around your trapezius muscles.
